St. Patrick's Day Has Been Moved

Eliza at Babylune just let me know that St. Patrick's Day has been moved. Sources say the Roman Catholic Church changed it to Saturday, March 15th to avoid conflict with Holy Monday that falls on March 17th.

This is new news to me. Did you already know about the change?

  1. Yea I heard about that in Ireland didn't realize that it would be recognized here. Of course st patrick's day is a bigger holiday there than here. Its because the week before Easter is "Holy Week" in Catholic Church important time of reflection not really the right time to be Hooping it up with a Green Beer in your hand! :)

  2. WTF? I was not aware of that. Can they do that? They can just up and move a holiday? In the middle of the year, when everyone already has their calendars? Thats going to cause a lot of confusion! Oh well.

  3. From my understanding, some people are still celebrating on the 17th. You may want to check around in your area to see if changes have been made.
